{"id":104,"date":"2025-09-06T10:13:55","date_gmt":"2025-09-06T10:13:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.kerjarapi.com\/?p=104"},"modified":"2025-09-09T14:21:19","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T14:21:19","slug":"test-suite-collection-in-katalon-studio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.kerjarapi.com\/?p=104","title":{"rendered":"Test Suite Collection in Katalon Studio"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Create a Test Suite Collection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To create a new Test Suite Collection, right click on folder Test Suite and choose New > Test Suite Collection. Click on \u201cAdd\u201d and choose the Test Suites from the list. After selecting all the Test Suites, we can choose which the following settings: which environment to Run with, which configuration (for Android\/ IOS)), and which Profile to use. On the right column, there are also checkboxes, to enable or disable the Test Suite when running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Choosing a Run With Environment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the column \u201cRun With\u201d, you can double click on one of the row, and choose to run with Chrome or other browsers. Or to run a Web Service or an Android \/ IOS environment for mobile testing. If you choose to run an Android \/ IOS environment, and have already connect your mobile phone to Katalon Studio, you will see your phone name in the \u201cRun Configuration\u201d column. If you double click it, you can choose which device to run on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Choosing a Profile for Each Test Suite<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the column \u201cProfiles\u201d you can double click one of the row, and choose the Profile to use when running the Test Suite. It means that the Test Suite is able to use all the Global Variables available from that Profile. We can select one Profile for each Test Suite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If there are more than one Test Suites in a Test Suite Collection, and Test Suite \u201cA\u201d is using a different Profile than Test Suite \u201cB\u201d, but Test Suite \u201cA\u201d has the same variable name as in Test Suite \u201cB\u201d, the values of variables in Test Suite \u201cA\u201d will not be available in Test Suite \u201cB\u201d even though the variables have the same name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selecting Which Test Suite to Run<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the most right, there\u2019s a column \u201cRun\u201d. You can check or uncheck this to choose which Test Suites in the Test Suite Collection to run. After checking all the Test Suites you want to run, above the table, click on the button \u201cRun\u201d, and it will run the Test Suites according to the selected environments and profiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Run Test Suites Sequentially or Parallel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the \u201cExecution Information\u201d section, there\u2019s an option to choose Execution Mode, \u201cSequential\u201d or \u201cParallel\u201d . If you choose \u201cSequential\u201d, meaning Katalon will run the Test Suites sequentially according to its order in the table. And \u201cParallel\u201d meaning Katalon will run all Test Suites at the same time in parallel.
